LAME 4.0 source and personal replacement This package includes lame-4.0.tar.gz, its upstream COPYING and LICENSE, COPYING.LGPL-2.1, and build-lame.sh. SparkleShot elects LGPL 2.1 under the upstream LGPL 2-or-later option. The source archive is unmodified. With Xcode command-line tools available, build in a new, unused absolute path: zsh build-lame.sh /absolute/path/to/a-new-build-directory The script verifies the source checksum, builds the shared arm64 encoder for macOS 15+, and prints the resulting libmp3lame.0.dylib path. It does not clean existing directories, modify your app, require Homebrew, or install software. The original source produces compiler warnings with current Clang; the included script does not hide them or apply undocumented source patches. Work on your own copy of SparkleShot.app. The replaceable library is located at: SparkleShot.app/Contents/Frameworks/libmp3lame.0.dylib The application uses LAME's public C encoding symbols through this path. Keep these APIs ABI-compatible; a replacement is never downloaded or installed by SparkleShot. The application's encoder uses CBR quality=4. Changing a signed app invalidates its existing signature. For a personal local copy you may sign your rebuilt library and modified app copy with your own appropriate code-signing identity, preserving the app's sandbox and microphone entitlements. macOS may request privacy permissions again for a new code identity. Distribution under Apple's signature is not a right to reuse that signature. No system protection needs to be disabled to exercise the LGPL rights. Contact the developer listed in the app for questions about these materials.
